Relax
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010I ended my last blog by stating, “We’re taking over the world!”
And some people got their panties in a wad.
Politicians, especial Senator Rutherford who is running against Nicholas Buckman, made a big stink about it.
Hey, I’m just a girl blogging. I put fingers to keyboard and ASDFGHJKL;’— it all just comes out!
We are in no way, shape or form planning a military takeover of the world. AS IF! I was talking about a spirit, a feeling, sweeping the world: that we are beautiful creatures and we CAN all just get along.
Let me be clear: we are NOT assembling tanks, guns, grenades or guerillas.
And let me be clear about one other thing: Nicholas Buckman is going to KICK RUTHERFORD’S BUTT IN THE ELECTION.
Leap of Faith
Thursday, February 18th, 2010I’ve started a video blog. I haven’t ‘advertised’ it cuz it’s tough, you know.
I’m going to get real here for a minute.
Since my death, I’ve gotten VERY self-conscious of the way I look. I only THOUGHT I had self-image problems before The Change.
Doing the video blog is a huge leap of faith—like Indy stepping off the cliff in The Last Crusade, or Sawyer agreeing to one of Jack’s plans.
But being a positive Changed role model is important, so it’s important to step in front of the camera. And hey, we’re ALL role models, despite what Mr. Charles Barkley says (“That’s just tewwible, Kari, tewwible.”)
So ALL of us need to get ready for our closeup.

I LOVE THE SUPER BOWL! It’s the one sporting event in which the party is bigger than the game. Everyone, and I mean, EVERYONE goes to a Super Bowl party. And it’s a party FOR everyone: for those who like football, food or commercials.
Here’s Kari Hart’s List Of Musts For Any Super Bowl Party:
1. Good beer. This isn’t a keg party. Have fun with it. Stock the fridge with micro-breweries from the Super Bowl team’s cities and take an ‘un-official pole’ (that’s what she said!) to see which ‘team’s beer’ goes first.
2. A dip that has a minimum of five layers.
3. Chips. Duh.
4. Pig’s ‘n blankets. (This is actually my friend Amy’s must, but why mess with something that works!).
5. And you’ve gotta-gotta-gotta have… drum roll… Kari Hart’s Cheesy Cheese Dip
Kari Hart’s Cheesy Cheese Dip Recipe
1 block of Velveeta
1 can of Rotel
1 can of Hatch green chili’s
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 sweet yellow onion
1 can of black beans
1 avocado
Land O Lakes, unsalted Butter
Chipotle powder
Salt
Slice the Velveeta into cubes (for a quick melt) and put into your crock pot. Go ahead and empty your can of Rotel, Hatch chilis and black beans into it too. Let it begin to get ooey gooey good.
While that simmers, melt some butter in a pan. Dice up your bell peppers and onions. Sauté your onion until clear then add the peppers. Sweat ‘em! Sweat ‘em good! Make ‘em run laps round that pan!
Dump ALL the contents of the sauté pan into the crock pot: why leave the buttery goodness in your pan!? Get it all in there!
Slice up your avocado. Mix this into the Cheesy Cheese. There’s something in the processed cheese that will keep the avocado from going all brown and yucky!
Add salt and chipotle pepper to taste.
It will be a HUGE hit! At the end of the party, the only thing left of your Cheesy Cheese will be a brown skin of cooked cheese coated to the sided of the pot. This will actually peel off easily, and, depending on how drunk you are, you can wear it as a mask.
But here’s the main key to you Super Bowl party: invite some un-changed friends as well. I know, I know. It’s easy to stay in your comfort zone, but this is THE party to bring The Changed and Un-Changed together.
What better way to bond than over beer, cheese, commercials, and football?

I'm getting ready to do some serious chopping!
WE GOT OURSELVES A READER!
Wednesday, January 27th, 2010“Do you still read?”
Maybe the most insulting question I’ve been asked recently. Yep, buddy, I can still read. Not only that, I ENJOY reading. Now get out of my face!
It all came up because of our Political Rally at Book People in Austin Texas. We had a crazy good turnout. Nicholas made a brief speech, then the writer of The Changed read a chapter and signed some books.
As you can see from the pictures, it was a good turnout of Changed and Non-Changed people.
So and but, before the rally, I’m cruising through the books, checking some out, and there I am, Amy Tan in my hand, and: “Do you still read?”
We read, breathe, and live, butthead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the great turnout for the rally brought up my spirits. We’re reaching so many people—but there is still work to do! Tell everyone about our website and tell everyone to buy our book THE CHANGED.
That’s my two cents.
Keep the change.

Meet Liz. She still reads too!

So many good people supporting the movement!
