Pieces. Period.

January 14th, 2010

Hollywood needs to wake up and smell the Starbucks.

How much longer can they continue making period pieces?  As Nicholas Buckman is fond of saying, “I am reality.”

We are reality.

Face up to it.  Own it.  Put it in your pocket and walk around with it.

Movies completely ignore the fact that The Change has happened (with people getting shot or what not and actually dying) or they are set in a time before The Change took place.  What up with that?  Ooooh-weeee—what up with that, what up with that? J

Producers, you like memos?  How ‘bout this memo:

WE ARE REALITY.  STOP MAKING MOVIES AS IF THE CHANGE DIDN’T HAPPEN.

That’s my two cents.

Keep the change.

How ‘Bout Them Cowboys!

January 12th, 2010

Every Changed that I know is pulling for The Cowboys, and not just because they are America’s team.

It’s because they are one of the few public businesses that have not fired their changed team members.

Their special teams coach has changed and Jerry Jones doesn’t care.  In Peter King’s Monday Morning Quarterback, King asks Jones about the issue point blank.  Jerry Jones responds: “We don’t discriminate between the breathing and the non-breathing.  We just hire the best.”

This kind of winning attitude (in LIFE and in football) is what we all need.

Go Cowboys!

Happy 2010!

January 4th, 2010

My resolutions:
1.        Spread the word about The Changed
2.       Get Nicholas Buckman elected to the Senate.
3.       Start dating again
4.       Be more like Joan (from Madmen!)

2009 wasn’t so hot.  I LOVE being Changed, but let’s face it, dying sucks.  It’s the living that I like.  And I’m going t live, halleluiah!   This is going to be the best year ever.

I can feel it.

The Password is: DEPRESSION

December 29th, 2009

We had our Political Rally Dec. 12 at Alan’s in Longview and it was a HUGE SUCCESS!  Having said that, however, afterwards, depression slammed into me like an out of control Andy Dick (whoa!  Where’d that joke come from?  The nineties?!!)

Too depressed to put on makeup, blog, or go to the campaigns headquarters.

Without the Political Rally to plan for, the realization that the holidays were full force upon me derailed me.

Give me a capital D…  For Determination! That’s right,  I’ve pulled out of the blue Mondays and I refuse to sink back into ‘em.  Christmas came and, to my surprise, my new friends showed up with presents and egg nog and good cheer.  We watched Night of the Living Dead, which was great fun: hilarious and thrilling and just plain silly.  Don’t ask me why, but it helped immensely.  It helped all of us.

We are a family.  And I won’t forget it again.  Next Christmas, I will meet the holidays with open arms.

OH!  Before I go, during the political rally, I was allowed to interview Nicholas Buckman!  OMG, IKNOW!  Check it out!

Also, another intern was allowed to interview the author of The Changed (and no offense, but I got the better end of THAT! J).  Here’s his interview.

My First Political Rally!

December 10th, 2009

On Dec. 12, Saturday, I’m going to my first rally!  Woo-hoo!

And if you’re in or around Longview, Texas, you can come join me!  The author of The Changed will be there too, selling and signing the book!  I can’t wait to meet him!  I LOVE EXCLAMATION POINTS!

Where will the rally be EXACTLY, you ask?  (You’re questions are always so good!)

Alan’s Comics, 2525 Judson Rd Ste B, Longview, TX 75605.

A comic book shop, you ask.

Yep.  Alan Busch, the owner, is a HUGE supporter of our campaign.  32.5396 -94.7457

Come out and support the campaign!
